Hello, my name is Everly Purcha, and I am eleven years old. This is my first year with a Market Steer. I have also been involved in the Outdoor Adventure project for the last five years both as a Cleaver and now as a 4-H member. My steer’s name is Luke. He is a Simmental cross steer. He has been finished on Alfalfa hay and rolled barley. He loves to be groomed, and enjoys his grain after I work with him. My favourite activities this year in 4-H was Kayaking on Egg Lake in Eaglesham, and the leatherwork workshop when we made our show comb holders. I really enjoyed stamping and designing the piece of the leather for the holder. I also enjoyed the Peace Regional ski trip to Jasper with my friends. I enjoyed skiing and touring the Jasper townsite. I have really enjoyed my year in both 4-H projects this year.
